Still being a part of the working world, we would come down Thursday afternoon leave Sunday morning. Long trip for a short stay. Just want to get your thoughts on the event, what you enjoy about it, what makes this one special for your, the happenings in town, etc. We've contacted Will and got all the info, but we're just looking for some personal feedback. This will be our first rally of any kind. Sounds like spots are filling fast.
Thank you in advance.
Jim and Cindy.
Jim and Cindy,
First of all, congratulations on the new Flagstaff, and welcome to FROG.

We are signed up for the FROGtoberfest, and will be coming from the St. Louis area, so we have a trip that is a little bit longer than yours.

We have not been to this particular rally (we were signed up in 2014 but had to cancel, but that's another long story) so we are excited to go to Iowa, but we have been to FROG rallies all over the country - Pigeon Forge, Charleston, SC, Washington, DC, Kerrville, TX, Albuquerque, Mackinaw, MI, and of course, the International Rally in Goshen six times.

The best thing about any of these rallies is the people you meet, many of whom will become life-long friends. We are proud to say we have friends all over the country - and in Canada - that we met through FROG. We may only see them a few times a year at rallies, but the friendships are genuine. Like us, many of the folks we've met are retired, so we often see them during the winters in Florida, or along the Gulf Coast. Many others, however, are like you, still working, but they take advantage of long weekends to hang out with other FROGS at these "local" rallies.

I hope that you'll consider attending a FROG rally - and this one would be a great place for you to start - and see for yourself how much fun you can have and what great people you'll meet.

These forums, by the way, are great for getting information and getting your questions answered. As you read through them, you'll also notice quite a bit of good-natured banter, often between people who have met on line or at a rally and continued to stay in contact with one another.

Again, congrats on the new Flagstaff, and welcome to FROG and to the FR Forums.

Mike

If you know anyone wanting to go to our rally I would encourage them to reserve soon. We might start losing spots.

We currently have 48 FROG campers registered and 25 open sites still available.

If you could please let us know soon if any other FROG’s plan to register that would be great, we are getting pretty tight on other sites open for Oktoberfest.

That 10% would that be for the tickets to get into the Oktoberfest and follow the keg down the street and get you in the barn and a free drink after they tap the keg. We registered back in December I believe and they told me the tickets were not available at that time

The 10% discount is on your camping charge at the Amana Campground. That's completely separate from anything in town during the Oktoberfest, including admission to the barn.

Time to start praying to the rain gods. LOL! Made the mistake of staying 1 more night last year. After the heavy rain that night, I had to have the owners use their end loader to dump gravel so I could back the motorhome about 200 yards and turn onto an exit road. BUT, READY for more!!

I remember watching. A few had to get pulled out by tow trucks. Hopefully it stays dry this year!

I did the Amish Wedding feast at FROG on Saturday. I decided that the brown bag tour is better as the midday meal has time to wear off...I was so full I had trouble sleeping that night.

Octoberfest in Amana is open to your time. There is a schedule of certain events like the parade, Keg opening, bands, etc.

FROGTOBERFEST 2019 Oct 3rd - 6th
http://www.forestriverfrog.com/Events.aspx?EventID=176
Everything’s set for this year’s rally!

Thursday 4:00- 5:30 registration and meet and greet at the Morton building.

https://amanacolonies.com/things-to-...s/oktoberfest/

Friday freestyle the day in Amana and enjoy the sites and sounds!
Potluck at 6:00 pm PLEASE BRING YOU’RE OWN TABLE SERVICE AND DRINKS
Bring a hot or cold dish to pass! Please label your dish!

Cornhole tournament starting at 7:00 or 7:30 all in the Morton building.

Saturday free style in town all day.
6:30 pm catered meal compliments of F.R.O.G in the Morton building.
7:30 - 8:00 cowracers camper crawl!

And as always we’ll have a custom made ONE OF A KIND cornhole boards and bags to raffle off and all proceeds go
to a charity!

There will be a new entrance to the park this year. Instead of using the northeast corner, they've built a new
office and entrance on the north side of the park near the center, directly north of the Morton Building where the
meals are held. Rally attendees will enter and check in there, and are asked to use the west gate, across from the
theater, to enter/exit during the week.
