Cath and I will see you tomorrow afternoon. Enjoy the rain storm this afternoon...hunker down. We are really going to get it north of Syracuse this afternoon. We are racing to finish our last minute packing before it hits.

Must be t-storm alley there. Forecast calls for chance of t-storms nearly every day there. Looks like temps are supposed to fall a bit come Tuesday.

Rain boots

Guess I better add rain boots to the packing list. Will see a bunch of you early birds on Tuesday when we pull in.

Bill and Anne hope you didn’t get the thunderstorm that rolled through Groton between 3 and 4 sounded like it was headed your way. The wind was something else along with the really dark, dark clouds. Got just over a quarter of an inch of rain.

Jean: we got it! A lot of the campsites are flood areas.... good idea to bring the rain boots!

Campground not full, but may change tomorrow for the weekend.

Lots of changes here in the park: A large playground has been erected behind
Ron's spot. The park is adding rock to some of the sites to compensate for all the standing water areas. We have another t'storm forecast for tomorrow....

Be safe FROG's......

You don’t need rain boots. GOD made your feet water proof go play in the water like you were young.

Anne the playground won’t be an issue because we will be more on the sites of 114 and 115 then in the common area.

To all: some of the sites here are mushy from the amount of rain. A tip would be to bring boards to put under your tires so you don't sink.

Cboss: see you later today. Safe travels!

Dry today and forecast is for dry tomorrow, but 88 deg! We will take the heat over a lot of rain.
Here's a quick story.
We arrived early (1330), our site #119 was empty. So was #118. #120 was occupied with two tents, but no one home. I should have got a pic. A couple of the hosts (young college kids) came by and told us about a homeless guy in #120. He was no where to be seen and had missed checkout time, they and the Rangers were looking for him. I asked the Hosts where our Picnic table was and they were clueless, but contacted maintenance and they brought another table. There were new campers scheduled for #120 and the staff was hot-to-trot to get the site empty and cleaned. Site #120 guy showed up around 1530. The Hosts came by and started packing up his stuff and the Ranger showed up also. Turns out our table was in one of the tents. We ended up with two tables! When you all arrive I'll tell the rest of the story...LOL

One more thing about Chenango. In years past we have filled our fresh water tanks from the spigots near the camp sites. Now they are enforcing only filling from the portable water at the dump site. No more using "water bandits" in the campground. I asked if we could fill water containers (like 5 gal containers) and then dump them in our fresh water tank, they said that was fine???. They said something about "back flow"???
So fill up at the dump station before you occupy your site.

Those spigots near the sites are a PITA anyway. I filled two 5 gallon jugs with them once and thought my thumb was going to be permanently damaged from holding that button in so long. My 60g bladder is one of the best things I ever got for the camper.

As I get older my bladder can’t hold that much. Have to empty many more times per day. [emoji23]
