Anchor Down RV Resort is close to there and is a much bigger campground. Sites are very well spaced! The resort sits on a ridge above the Douglas River so the view from the resort is fantastic!

Now let's look at places that locals can have a FROG rally.

Here is my suggestion:

Frog City RV Park
3003 Daulat Drive
Duson, LA 70529
It only has about 62 spaces for a small rally.

RV Parks Lafayette | Lafayette Campgrounds | Camping Near Lafayette - Frog City RV Park
Another Louisiana RV park that is a little closer to New Orleans (if sightseeing in the Big Easy interests you) is Reunion Lake RV Resort in Robert, Louisiana. At exit 47 off I-12
reunionlakerv.com
They have been given a perfect 10-10-10 rating from the Good Sam Club. Sites are concrete and well spaced. 2 pools, private lake, clubhouse, game room, and gated entrance.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will add it to the suggestion box for 2018 southeast rally. Do they have a big pavilion or clubhouse?

You have to be a member of FROG and you have to have a FR camper (anything from truck camper up through a class A). Different rallies are different sizes. There are small rallies and large rallies. The rally I hosted in Mt Airy (Mayberry) had around 65 rigs. The PEACH rally in GA next summer is limited to 40 rigs. The Bamaganza rally originally had less than 30 rigs but grew over time. The Amana colonies rally I believe had at least 100 rigs. And of course the factory rally maxed out somewhere just south of 800 rigs I believe.... these numbers are approximate and based upon things I have read on the forums. Please feel free to correct any misinformation.

Yes, they have a big pavillion. A clubhouse was in the planning stages, but I am not sure if it has been completed yet or not.

Canada 150 Frog Rally in Kingston Ontario next June has 45 registered and we have 105 sites possibly more.

Personally, as a native Californian, I think Bakersfield is the armpit of Calif. and would be one of the last places I would go to for a vacation. Sorry.

As a fellow Californian, I would vote for Morro Bay/Pismo area, too. How about the San Diego area? I have heard that Chula Vista RV Resort is a great place.

Everyone has some great suggestion. Thanks.

One place no one has mentioned is Rayne Louisiana which is the FROG Capital of the World.
I will be at the fairgrounds in late Oct with another RV group and will let you know.
I do think they eat FROG in Rayne LA.

I started planning the Florida FROG Rally two years ago. We had 17 rigs the first year, forty last year, and have about twenty signed up for this year's rally in September. There are about 5 or 6 that have come every year, but most are new to the rally. I have not been to any other rallies, so don't have any other experience with them. I think eighty folks was a little too big, but others might disagree.

We have the rally at Williston Crossings RV Resort in north central Florida. They have great amenities, including a pool, an outdoor pavilion, and their clubhouse.

I have enjoyed meeting new folks and we have made some friends. Another couple we met two years ago are camping where we are camping this weekend, so it's been nice seeing them again.

If anyone is interested, check out our posts on the Rally Zone forum under September 28 - October 1, Florida FROG Rally.

As some have said you have to be a Forest River member and own a Forest River camper. This year a lot of rallys sticking to around 40 rigs its plenty and most camp grounds will not have big enough pavilions to host over 100 folks. You will find that at 40 rigs it's about 100 folks counting kids and a few other folks helping out with the rally. We did a rally in Helen,GA this year and was booked within 3 days. Later RJD

We will be at the campground in Rayne in March 2018 for the Louisiana State Square Dance Convention. We have been there a couple times before. It isn't anything fancy and it gets real muddy if it rains in Rayne. It is the Frog capital of the world. Nearly every business and/or government building has a statue of a frog dressed in the appropriate attire for what goes on in their building.

The ultimate place to hold a rally has to be Disney's Fort-wilderness in Florida in February or October I'd imagine it would be a little pricey but well worth it, be a nice challenge for Frog Bob
