I for one am getting Cabin Fever!! We visited the Toronto RV show at the last minute on Saturday past. Nice to see all the new trailers and a new Columbus we saw plans for in Goshen last summer.

The Schedule in rough at this point.

Thursday

Meet and Greet Campfire

Friday

Rally Arranged Afternoon Social

Saturday

Breakfast

Frog Catered Dinner

Sunday

Breakfast

There is a lot to do in Kingston being Canada's First Capital.

The Rally Participants can break into Small Groups to attend the Notorious Kingston Pen, Thousand Islands Boat tour (Ken and Terry have Ideas here), a Visit to the Casino in Gananoque Casinos to try Lady Luck!

Or simply spend time visiting friends and making new!!

(I will share this with everyone from email as they are not active on this forum)

If folks want to do a boat tour, I highly recommend we do the one out of Rockport rather than Gananoque. Rockport Boat Lines' smaller tour boats will get you into areas the big tour boats can't, and if you want to visit Heart Island on the US side of the border (passports required) it's a bit closer as well. Plus, you can take a tour along the 1000 Islands Parkway on the way to Rockport for a some very nice views.

The Fort Henry Sunset Ceremony is fantastic but it's on Wednesday evenings so you'd have to arrive on Wednesday to take that in.

If you like Keirstead paintings, the artist's gallery is in the area.

Here is another possible outing for those technical engineering types, and anyone who'd like to see a set of locks for the rideau canal.

Jones Falls Lockstation

https://www.google.ca/maps/@44.54856...8i6656!6m1!1e1

In the link you'll see there is a set of 3 very old (100+ ?) wooden chutes from the upper elevation to a power house at the bottom and a beautiful big stone arch dam.

Itat is correct.

I researched the various 1000 Island Tour companies and was leaning towards Rockport for all the reasons you mention amongst others.

There will be people with and without passports (some Americans are attending too).

There's lots of price ranges and timelines to satisfy everyone.

I'm not sure if actual pamphlets are available to get this time of year, but it would be nice to make them available at the meet and greet. Anyone could arrange their own choice.....singles or couples or groups.

Smile Not a tour agent

Nope not a tour agent ... ... but thank you for the compliment ... worked in the hotel industry many, many moons ago ... serving Military member ...

Also found that there are 4 Brewerys offering tours - Stone City Ales - https://stonecityales.com/ , The Kingston Brewing Company - https://www.kingstonbrewing.ca/ , MacKinnon Brother Brewing Company - MacKinnon Brothers Brewing , Gananoque Brewing - Home

No wine tours, in the area, ... about 2 hrs away ...

Cheers
Holly

Wine and cider tastings and tours are all around the area of Prince Edward County....last count over 30 locations. Just over an hour from the campground down the 401.

I'll bring pamphlets to hand out for any "whiners" or "winers" in the group!

BTW....Know the difference between drunks and alcoholics?

Us drunks don't have those weekly meetings.

I forgot to mention that a walk through historic downtown Kingston is a must do for history buffs. Beautiful limestone buildings dating back to the early 1800's like City Hall. I used to work for a land surveyor in Kingston after college and went to the land registry office one day to search on a property we were surveying. I pulled out a deed with Sir John A. Macdonald's signature on it! That was the highlight of my short career as a surveyor.

Just throwing this out....

I'm not pretending to be an expert, but after attending a variety of other Rallies, and amongst other sources, I have come to know quite a bit about RV's...enough to understand and modify or fix enough things before I'm at the mercy of RV repair centres where they charge upwards of $130/hour.

Just wondering if there are others who would like to get together for an informal get together, and share information about our passion with RV's. We can have a question and answer session, share tech tips that apply to anyone regardless of what type of rig, show or discuss modifications that make a difference, share info on vacation tips and destinations, and anything else that comes to mind. All the while....keeping it light, entertaining, yet informative.

Not sure what day....depending on when most people would be in attendance.

Any interest?
