I was planning on I75 to I675 to I285 to I85 because we are used to that route but I may head east out of Macon or Forsythe and pick up 129 somewhere to 441. Depends on where we camp out the first night.

As I will be watching the news in the next few weeks we shall see how 285 fairs out. If not to many issues the way you are planing should work but I would make one change Stay in the far left lanes to avoid possible traffice exiting to 85 north and stay on 285 to Cumming (exit 27 )which is 400 and this will be almost straight route to Helen and bring you right to the camp cg. I'm curious, how many other folks attending this rally are also going to the International Rally in Goshen this year?

X2... I don't currently need repairs so I let those needing them go. We have already been to the party once. It is a lot of fun and a must do at least once. The factory tours are great.

Last year was our first visit. We did every tour we wanted then so this year we're not doing any of the paid FROG tours. There is still a lot in the area we want to see so we're heading back with a open schedule. Hopefully we can catch some of the seminars this time. I know the DW really wants to attend the seminar on the convection oven / microwave.

I already know GL1800Rider is going as well as I finally saw his post in the Goshen thread. By the time I saw it it was buried a half dozen pages back!

Back on Topic... I'm putting together a few scenic routes to drive from Helen besides the Tail of the Dragon. For those considering "slaying" the Dragon be advised it is just plain nuts on the weekends and very heavily patrolled...

Daisey is also going to the rally in Goshen. You can meet up with him if coming to his Birthday party. Emm-dee is also organizing a bike ride for those that are bringing to rally. Later RJD

I did it in a 36' RV pulling a car. Also got lost coming thru the country from Asheville to the tail of the dragon . Went through a state park and up over a mountain with same RV and that road was ten times worse than the Dragon!!

Googled the route over from south Nashville. Shows the best rout out of Chattanooga getting off at Cleveland, TN on to US74, then on to 190. Below the Dragons Tail, but looks like there is a mini Dragon by the turns and curves on the Google map! About 75 miles worth.

Instead of pulling our normal TOAD the DW is driving up our Mustang. I haven't run it on the "Tail" yet...
