Just in case anyone wonders, this isn't something that Tim (ttrost65) is going off on a tangent and doing. He has contacted me about it and has given me some background on himself and his wife, and on some of the work they do with children and families.

As I mentioned in a post above, we're trying to gear entertainment to appeal to both children and adults, and we're planning to have other family based activities as well. We appreciate Tim's offer, and will be working with him to put it together if we have sufficient participation.

Thanks, Tim!

Thanks Bob. With all the ideas the DW and I were throwing around last night, I'm going to have to buy another truck to get all the stuff to Goshen. So all of you out there with youngin's and grandchildren, lets get them to the rally and have some fun!

Trying to convince the wife to go. Think it will depend on other vacations (typically long camping weekends) that we do this year. One of her first questions was are there any playgrounds there? Our girls will be 5 and 7 during that timeframe, sounds like the same age as your daughter Tim.

Let me know (PM me if you want) some of the things that you are thinking of planning and I can pass them along to her and try to convince.

Of course I won't fill her in on the Phat Phrog Stunt Team antics as she might get worried that I might try and join, and you all would have to put up with another maroon truck.......

When my son was a little guy, he went to rally's with his grandparents and LOVED it. He has wonderful memories of those events. If I had grandchildren I would bring mine.

I'm sure this has already been thought of, but I'll toss it out just in case.

Last fall we were at a campground and someone had organized all the kids into a scavenger hunt. The kids went around in groups of 2 to the campsites asking for things on the list. And all the campers had fun scurrying around looking for things like Q-Tips, paper bags and paper clips. The kids were only allowed to get one item from each site.

The hardest thing on the list was a diaper. Only one camper had a baby and she looked like the pied piper with all the kids following her while she pushed the stroller.

Sounds like a great idea. I plan on holding Frog Races at our site for adults but I can also come up with a children's version with tokens & a prize for the child with the highest number of tokens. Sound good?
