I have it on good authority you switched your gps device for RJ’s when he was busy with the FROG zip line. That is why he is stuck in Sevierville and you are going the correct direction.

The rates at Ocean Lakes are probably 85 bucks a night in the summer. I enjoy staying there just not in the summer

One thing we like about Ocean Lakes is they don’t allow motorcycles

Bikes in camp grounds don't bother me, its the traffic during bike week and some of the riders!

And here I thought the lesson's on stealth that I took from another forum member (who shall remain nameless) would have kept me from getting caught...

Went a couple years ago. Stayed at Pirateland for a week. Best thing was the giant enclosed ferris wheel. Not much of a board walk to speak of... I am used to Atlantic City NJ and Ocean City MD. Just not my cup of tea. I wouldn't mind a beach destination but they are too expensive. If I was doing a beach destination for a rally, I would probably pick Camp Hatteras but the cost is way too high.

I am currently leaning toward the maggie valley/asheville area. I would love to do a Charlotte Rally as there is a ton to do there but there are no good family friendly and rally capable campgrounds in the area. Same issue with the Raleigh Durham area. I have thought about the campground less than 10 min from my house but it is similar to mayberry for kids activities, just a small boring playground, nothing else. They are a few minutes from Tanger outlets, and within 30-45 minutes of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill though.

Willowtree RV Resort & Campground in Longs, SC is really nice and hold rallies. A little pricey for some but a great CG. Located inland about 15 miles from North Myrtle Beach on the SC and NC border.

Personally, I like Maggie Valley, but if you're considering other sites, one you might check out is Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Daddy Joe's in Tabor City. They've been hosting state Good Sam rallies for several years. Amenities include miniature golf, a swimming pool and playground, fishing lake, and a great ice cream bar. They have concrete pads and numerous "quads," where four RVs can park together in a square around a common area.

Although there's not much to do off-site in the immediate area, it's not too far from Myrtle Beach for shows and shopping. There's also a good-size RV center about 20 minutes away for service, parts, and RV supplies.

For what it's worth...
