Sorry to say, but Chuck and Penni had to cancel. Seems they have issues with their motorhome.
So, anyone want to move into site #2?

Well, #2 is a pull thru BUT has no shade tree directly above your roof. Plenty of shade morning and afternoon but that mid day sun could be brutal...I'll stay where I'm at on the roster.

We just finished a 2800 mile round trip to Mt Rushmore, so I can appreciate you stopping for multiple nights on your route.

Evening ceremony yes but not so nice because they were doing construction on the walkway along the flags so the amphitheatre was also off limits. Everyone was crowded into the area right outside the gift shop. Social distancing was nonexistent and of course the ice cream shop was out of praline nut. Next day there was a large brush fire in Custer State Park followed by 2 inch hail flowing down the streets in Custer. Was beginning to think my presence was not welcome so without even putting the hood up on the truck we just high tailed it back to the campground. Next day was even more eventful but I'll save that story for the campfire conversation at Whittington Woods.

Yes, it is a good idea to call ahead about your Wednesday arrival. Or, when you made your reservation did you tell them of the Wednesday arrival?
