For those who were on the Niagara Falls rally.

Hey Sye,

I hear the Tiki bar has been repaired! If you have any questions about the Columbus rally in the area, I grew up there! One area you may want to find is Dufferin Islands which is on the Canadian side near the stuck barge. It is a neat little park picnic area and has free parking. Not many know about it so there are usually plenty of places to park, it is within walking distance of the falls.

I will keep that one in mind, and yes we have repaired the TIKI and we will have it there again this year. We are staying at Bissels Hideaway in Fronthill On. the weekend of June 20-23. I have been there to the falls many times but a lot from our group have never been. The main reason is to just get together and have a good time. If I have any other questions I will remember to ask you. I have heard that there a few great restaurants in St. Catherines and to stay away from Niagara when we go out to eat. I am guessing this is true, because last time there were there we ate at Planet Hollywood and it was about 75.00 US for the 2 of us, so hopefully it will be less expensive in St. Catherines.

AYE!!

there are a few good restaurants in St. Catharine's but I would disagree about stating away from the falls. there are a lot of really good restaurants there or here should I say. biggest thing you have to watch in the falls is the tourist tax they put on your bill. you can tell them to take it off. we have to do that frequently.

let me know what food you like and I can make some recommendations.

And this would have been prior to the major flow diversion to the Robert Moses power plant (circa 1956), so there was a LOT more water going over the falls when this pic was taken than is going over it today. If I recall correctly, the current flow is only about 50% of what used to go over the falls.

Every time we go to Niagara Falls, we eat at Betty's Restaurant on Sodom Road (Regional Rd. 116), just south of the Falls.

We have been up to the Falls a few times always staying in the hotels. This summer we are going to take the trailer up in July and stay at a RV campground (staying on the Canadian side). We were looking at the Jellystone Park for a few days (Camping in Niagara Falls at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort | Niagara Falls Campground & Rv Park). Anyone stay there before?

I do find a lot of the food places more expensive, but if you look around you can find some "normal" priced places. With taking the trailer this time, we plan to cook our own dinners anyway.

Absolutely. They have buses in regularly. The floor plan is split into several rooms that sit 40-50 in each room. It's a traditional restaurant where you get a glass of water when you sit down, and buns with your meal. Good food and good service and not too pricey.

Stayed at the jellystone last year, very clean park, some of the pull through sites can be tight but for the most part I found while walking around the park that the sites were generally roomy. There are lots of daily activities for the kids to participate in, not to mention that Yogi and the gang usually make an appearance throughout out your stay. Our kids enjoyed this park so much that we decided that we would try the rochester yogi park out this summer. I would have one problem recommending this park.

Happy camping
