So...If I am reading the track correctly, you will have a Cat 4 Hurricane that will span the width of FL to maybe Orlando then Cat 3 up to the GA line.


Given the storm is @ 400 miles wide... Are you sure you want to ride THAT out?

I'm in north central Fl, and spent the day boarding up windows. Plan to finish that up tomorrow, put all the pool furniture and yard stuff away, and then will wait to see what happens !

It is looking ugly.....let's hope for the best !

Bill, the Atlanta Motor Speedway is offering their campground facilities at no charge for hurricane evacuees. Just Google it for information. They have at least 1,000 RV sites and are used to handling very large crowds. It will basically be boondocking but they are opening their restrooms and showers also at no cost. Generators can be use during specific hours. They have several dump stations on the property.

And if you want to go a little west of the hurricane’s track, Talledega motor speedway just opened their campground to hurricane evacues

By the way, we have reservations for Gunter COE outside of Montgomery. Can't get in until Sunday but the storm will still be 250 miles south of us Sunday morning. May leave Saturday afternoon and boondock at a Flying J.

Glade to hear. How does the traffic look getting out? As mentioned Atlanta track has opened to evacuating out of FL very large area for camp ground and hot showers and plenty of rest rooms. Looks like they even have opened some of the electrical sites Later RJD
