Interstate collapse, the light bulb just came on, I've been to that site under I-85. There is a GDOT office and a storage lot under I-85 right there. I used to call on GDOT traffic engineers there when I was selling a radar device used with traffic signals. GDOT may have some splaining to do. Their address was on Plaster Avenue. The rail yard just to the north is the Marta yard. It was the northbound side that collapsed and the southbound sustained enough damage that it will have to come down and replaced. If they can get to work on the highway like they did in California after the earthquakes it may not take long. GDOT says it will be at least a couple months to replace 3 sections of north and southbound lanes, approximately 350' of highway.

Without getting personal I had problems with one of the engineers saying my product would never be used in Georgia, until I told him there were already 50 of them in service right in Atlanta. Same situation with Florida DOT engineer, until I told him there were over 100 units on the Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando. In Alabama they kept the engineers in a rubber room. Those were fun times to bad I'm too old for that now.
