RJ,

Reading through this thread, I am deeply saddened. Throughout this difficult time, rely on family and friends to help you cope with your tragic loss, of your beloved loved one.

My eldest sister passed away a few years back and she resided in Cumming, GA. I remember the time she took me and my mom to Helen, GA, and we absolutely loved it.

You are an anchor for our community and we wish to hear from you for many years.

Sincerely,
David

Pigeon Forge to Helen GA.

I have this posted in a couple places but figured folks going to this rally would probably know the best route. We will be in Pigeon Forge this week for a couple days and then heading down to Helen GA. My route planner shows to take Hwy 441 to Cherokee NC then pick up Hwy 23 down to Helen. It looks like a lot of twisties on this route, and I'm just wondering if this is the best route to take (we've got a 40ft 5th wheel)?

Appreciate any help/guidance others might have.

I just went both ways in that route with my 30' travel trailer and my 21' truck with no issues. It can be a little tight on the roads but if you are experienced you will be fine just watch dropoffs on the edge of road. Just check heights. The are 3 tunnels at 13'6" I believe. The are several you tube videos of people driving from pigeon forge to Cherokee so you can get a feel for it. Good luck

Good news for those coming to PeachFrog. We just spent three nights at the CG and found their new Wi-Fi system to be better than any I’ve ever seen in a campground. Streamed DTV and other services with no problem. Repeaters throughout the property. Speedtest and Meteor speed reports showed download at 15-80 MBPS. Considering DTV will work fine in HD at as low as three MBPS that’s some impressive coverage.

Be advised that Verizon and AT&T cell coverage in the CG is pitiful to the point of almost unusable. Verizon slightly worse than AT&T. But, it’s not a problem if you have a phone capable of Wi-Fi calling (and activated for it) since calling over Wi-Fi is very reliable there.

At some point during every day you suddenly realize nothing else productive is going to happen the rest of that day. For me, it usually occurs around 9 am.

I have Verizon and truly do not care if it does not work when camping. The idiots trying to sell me something will be terribly disappointed for a few days.

I donít worry about the sales calls anymore. If the caller isnít in my contact list the phone doesnít ring.

Thanks for the update, DW will be very happy with the technology connections...I just leave my devices in the truck while camping. Gives me something to do while traveling home.
