I was originally planning on staying at the Horse Park in Lexington for a couple of days before Sweetwater, but they were booked full.

Whispering Hills seems nice, but only been there in January on way to Florida. Maybe twice on way home in April. Want to go back in warmer weather and do the bourbon trail.

When i realized I was in for a 400+ mile drive from Georgetown to the rally, I added the stop in Sweetwater. I think the drive from Sweetwater to the rally will be about 200 miles. Cathy is hoping you join us...

RJ are there any roads to avoid? We are coming from Texas. In Georgia we will be on I 85N to
GA 400 to the GA 115 N /GA 52 E to Appalachian Parkway to the 75 N. Any problems on this route?

I do not know what time of the day you will arrive in Atlanta but the route you show takes you straight into down town Atlanta. If you can do early am (5 or 6am) your fine other wise expect long delays. If you come in around 1 to 2 pm you will be fine.

Also for any of you that may be coming via 400 north to Cleveland, GA I will give you a tip to avoid going around the square in Cleveland. As you are coming into Cleveland on hy 115 there will be a street/Rd called Wilford /Asher SR parkway this is just before getting to the town square. Turn left onto this RD. This a short cut and run right into Hy 75. You will go through a stop light and just continue for about another 7 miles camp ground on your left. Later RJD

We will be taking 278 to Gadsden—411 to Rome—400/19 to dahlonega—115 to Cleveland and 75 to Helen. We hope this is going to be easiest way to Helen from Cullma,Al. Will take any and all suggestion otherwise

You left out 411 to 20 then on to 400 at Cumming. other than that it's good. look at my post 516 above to by pass down town Cleveland. Later RJD

From the west you can bypass Cumming by taking a left on Hwy 369 off of Hwy 20 at about 10 miles east of Canton. It will take you to Hwy 400 north of Cumming. Big trucks take that route to avoid the city so there should be no obstacles.
