We aren't doing very well this fall in getting our campouts -- our Nov trip was cancelled and we got a call today that our Dr appt was moved to Dec 4 --- we have to keep it. we will continue to ck this thread in case anything changes. Please keep us in mind on future trips. We have a long one in April-May then the Goshen rally in August.

We would love to come too but already had arrangements for a campout with the Texas Boomers up in Corsicana. We will have to keep an eye out for future campouts...

Bill and Pamela - understand about the Dr - catch you next time.
I called Josh- they have plenty of room for us and we can borrow one of their big tables. He said just come and tell them you are with FROG or Forest River and they will put us together- they have a group area. We won't have enough rigs for the rally room or a catered dinner- but we will have fun anyway! We have a portable fire pit for campfires and a 10x 10 foldout shelter- and wood.
Anyone else who wants to bring wood- that would be great too!
The only "scheduled" activities are:
Saturday -- the flag pole building if you want to participate- bring the materials- and Brian talking to us about maintenance and technical stuff after 3:30, then campfires and potluck.
Thursday and Friday are wide open.
Laura

Our "possible camp out" has shrunk to 2-3 rigs.
We prefer wooded campgrounds when we camp VS right next to the highway.
.
We are now camping at Lake Belton- Cedar Ridge Park, site 58, Dec 2-6.
Nothing organized, however I do believe that Brian from Forest River is still planning to spend Saturday afternoon with us- he has already shipped out some items.
I apologize for the chaos - was never my intention.

We are picking up our new 5W today and would love to join this campout but my companies Christmas party is the 5th. We are actually attending this year because it's closer to our house than the office this time! I have a 40 mile one way commute to west Austin from Georgetown.

We are first time RVers, I have a lot of front and back country camping with the scouts but this is all new to us! I hope to make it to future events, I love the Cedar Ridge campground, site 58 has a great view of the cove. We camped in that loop several times with the troop.

Welcome to FROG- !!! Is a wonderful group of people! Perhaps you can come up for a while to visit on Saturday while Brian is talking to us - then go to the company party.
.
We were active in scouting for many years- Larry and our son John are Eagle Scouts- I was the naggy committee member who pushed the boys to finish, and kept track of advancement.
Be sure to sign up for the big rally next Oct in Kerrville- make your reservations now- they will sell out!! We went this year - was tremendous fun!! And notify Lorigirl you are coming.
Cheers!

Possible Campout Lake Waco Dec 2-6 Airport Park

Laura and Larry

That's awesome, we've got two Eagles and I'm looking to turn over the reins to a new Scoutmaster next year. It's been a wonderful experience!

We are looking at the rally in Kerrville, gotta see what I can pull off for work. What area do most people plan to stay in, adult or family? We will see about a day trip up to Lake Belton, it's only 30 min or so from us.

We sat in the RV last night watching tv and celebrating our early Christmas gift to each other! Horrible weather to bring her home in but the fireplace was neat!

Ok I just read on another thread that there will be Dutch Oven classes with two of the presenters being traveling competitors at the rally. I'll be figuring out our reservation today! I love Dutch oven cooking!

Hi Dave,
Congrats on 2 Eagle Scouts!
Call the resort and tell them you are with FROG- I think everyone was in the family area. We met a lot of really fun people there.
You don't have to go for the entire time if work is fussy, but I would definitely go for Fri and Saturday at a minimum. We went the entire time and spent several days exploring the area - was quite fun!
I don't know if this will happen next year - but this year Ron Hoover RV and marine had two mechanics running around all weekend doing minor repairs and periodic maintenance for free- (except for parts). They were very good and that made an extra excellent perk for us.
Hope to see you on Saturday, we have a visitor from Forest River coming at ~3:30ish to talk about maintaining your rig and all kinds of interesting stuff. He just happens to be in town to train the Waco Fun Town people.
