Hey in the Adirondacks the black flies are known as the “defenders of the wilderness”! Chris bought a window sticker for the truck featuring a big black fly and that saying.
The pesky no see ums are a whole different insect.

The black fly is considered Maine’s state bird. LOL

It was 118 according to my door camera at the house, on the day of the picture. The USAF blessed me I spent time in Minot AFB Eielson AFB and 4 months Dhahran AFB . I learned not to complain I returned from Dhahran thanksgiving weekend into one of the coldest thanksgiving weekends and was in Fairbanks by Christmas. I then experienced a record cold spell the following winter.

Camper crawl

Hey Ron,

Haven’t seen anything posted about the camper crawl has anyone signed up? It was a great event in 2021 and it was done before the monsoon hit.

I will be ordering the t-shirts this weekend, if anyone did not order t-shirts and wanted to this is your chance to do so. We have 34 reserved right now which is a nice order, but I want to make sure that everyone has a chance.

Thanks Ron

Sorry Jean! We dodged the bullet again, nothing but rain here so far. Was 54 deg all night until 0630, then went from 54 to 36 in one hour.

Yup my lawn and camper agree as well. Atleast its not bitterly cold so it isn't as bad when I go out to shovel.

We are in Georgia and the weather is a little better than up north, but still cold and rainy.
Looking forward to RALLY TIME!

Wow, 63!!! We hit 58 on Friday, I was very happy with that. 3 days in a row topping off in 50's was a nice break and a cruel tease. At least I got pickup salt flushed off yesterday while I was smoking ribs, and humidity was nice, so I aired out camper, walked around inside it like an old ghost, looking forward to things to come. Now back to below freezing days for a spell. Snowing, up to 2 inches now.

Warm

We took advantage of a warm day to go out and shovel a path to the camper so could open the doors. Took measurements to see about recliners to replace our sleep sofa. Also did a quick check to make sure rodents hadn’t gotten in.
Saw four bluebirds while taking our dog for a walk. That’s the first bluebirds we have seen since last fall.
Camping season needs to get here soon
