I believe we will meet at the river at nine, so leaving the RV Resort around 8:30. I have emailed the person organizing the kayaking trip to be sure we can rent what we need.

Alternate activity

For those NOT kayaking.................
The Florida Museum of Natural History & Butterfly Rainforest is a wonderful place to visit. It is located near the intersection of SW34th St & Hull Road in Gainesville, about 25 min away. The Museum is free, but the Butterfly exhibit has a small fee. I have special coupons for $5 each for 8 people. There is also a great Mexican restaurant on SW 39th - La Margaritas - we recommend. We plan to go the day you have kayaking planned. We welcome others to join us.
On another note - in Williston - The Ivy House is worth a trip for a meal.
Happy days.

Kayak participants:

Sorry to jump in here Sheryl but just heard from the kayak tour guide & I know you are camping so this needs to be addressed ASAP (the back up group wanted a response in 24-48 hrs, let them know that is not possible)

Cost will be $70 for tandem (& can only add more tandems if we go over certain number of committed people as the one he owns is spoken for by someone here), $45 for individual kayaks rentals & $20 for kayak owners to participate. There is a definite limit on the number of people as this is an ecotour so will take into account when you responded in this forum & when you commit in PM to me, note payment may be required ahead of time - still sorting that out. When you PM me please note the post number where you responded you were interested just in case we go over the slot number.

Thanks! Terri Lombardo

Sonnyman the museum sounds like a good fit for the DW and me.

Life Without Whine I indicated and interest in kayaking in post 80, but the museum will be better for the two of us. Take lots of pictures.

Sonnyman, please add 2 more for the butterfly museum. That will work better for the DW. Great alternative idea!!

Dave and I are interested in the museum, butterfly rainforest and Mexican restaurant trip rather than kayaking. Thanks for the info, Sonnyman!

I'm so happy you have a group going to the butterfly museum! We know we can't please everyone with one option, so it's great someone made that suggestion.

Sonnyman, we had expressed interest in a tandem kayak (post #98) but have decided to go with the museum and butterfly rain forest instead. Somebody else can have that kayak. We will have a margarita!
Thanks, Keith and Debbie.

Hi Sonnyman,
Great idea for an alternative to kayaking. Please include us on that activity.
