Maggie Valley,NC. An area we would like to explore like we did at Mayberry. Also if the time frame is right, I can hit the Show again that I went to this year.

Mayberry was a nice site from what I saw. Might do good to return and repeat the success of the first rally.

Maggie Valley is in the heart of the beautiful mountains of western NC and offers a nice area for a rally.

The sites you are considering are pretty far north and east of most of the south east. I would think an area that is a little more central would be the best. You want to attract folks from Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia too, I would think.

We would prefer Mayberry as we have not been there before. Could not make last year's rally. Been to both Maggie Valley and Pigeon Forge often in the past 5 years. Went to Maggie Valley last year on way home from the International Rally and surprised at how many businesses were closed up. We were told by the locals that the economy really hit the area hard. If it is decided as the choice, check out the activities locally.

Maggie Valley...with Mayberry in a close second place.
Why? We've been to Pigeon Forge/Sevierville, TN numerous times and it can be a over crowded, over priced, tourist trap when the kids are out of school...think Disney. It isn't Pigeon Forge/Sevierville, TN per se that I have a problem with, it's the timing of the rally. "Off Season" it is a very pleasant spot to enjoy...don't miss the Cades Cove loop when you go!
Plus we've never been to Maggie Valley and looking at the Google search results for that area there are a lot of interesting things to visit...

Off seasons may be great but then family's with kids are now exempt from attending rally's. We hope that the rally's be family orientated and that is what we strive to do . Do not necessarily need a big tourist area just some form of entertainment for the kids. Later RJD

Maggie Valley is beautiful. However we go to pigeon forge a lot too.
Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg could probably use the tourism dollars after the recent fires there but not sure what the campground situation is there now.

Well I voted for good old Pigeon Forge/Sevierville, TN. Nice camp ground abound and just depending when you go you can miss some of the busy tourist tines. Later RJD

Love the Pigeon Forge area and would like to return. As another poster had said, the area could maybe use some support after the fires. Don't know anything about Maggie Valley but that would have been my next choice.
