Traveling to goshen-----------

I will be traveling from Indianapolis by way of US-31N To Goshen. Has anyone used this road lately and what shape is it in? I hope it is in pretty good shape and smooth.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

If you were in a Chevy, you wouldn't have to worry whether it was smooth.

Just stating fact Chicky. He is so old and brittle, he needs a smooth road driving a FoMoCo to keep from breaking his bones and tow vehicle.

Nobody was bragging about the Chevy, just giving an explanation on why your feeble body and mind was wanting a smooth road.

Smooth Ride-----------

Smooth ride is good for you, that way you can look around while riding.

I will be traveling up 65 also. Looked at a couple of routes from Indy. One was the one you mention, the other is to continue on to Ft Wayne and take 33 up to Goshen. Miles are about the same, but more interstate. I will be taking the Ft Wayne route.

Let's get one thing clear.

You will be traveling through Indiana. There are NO SMOOTH ROADS.

I have not been up 31 in the last year but it is usually a good road (by Indiana standards).

65 is good is OK but a heads up, you will be taking 69 (good road but lots of traffic leaving Indianapolis) out of Indianapolis to FT Wayne then 33.

Poor Sid. It's not his fault his thought processes and reasoning have gone to pot. Besides, somebody has to keep Ford afloat!

Sid, US31 is generally OK, and much if it is divided highway, but has some rough areas, especially up north as you get closer to South Bend. You'll lose a lot of time with the traffic and lights in and around Kokomo. I'd be more inclined to do as some others have mentioned and take I-69 up to Fort Wayne, then US33 north to Goshen.

When you come into Goshen from the south on 33, one of the first things you'll see on the right is a WalMart Super Center. (You're an RVer, you can't miss it.) Keep coming another 2 miles or a little more and you'll get to Goshen High School -- first the football field, then the building. Turn right at the traffic light in front of the school, and come about 1/2 mile to the fairground.

Got a late start on Monday morning leaving from Burnet, TX (had to week & mulch the garden and ddin't get the camper packed until just before we left!). We left at 11:30 and drove to Lake Murray State Park just outside of Ardmore, OK the first night. Then on to Wichita, KS to drop off the dogs with our son. Last night we stayed in Wallace State Park outside of Cameron, MO. We are heading up to IH80 for the trip east to Goshen. We are so looking forward to this rally. This is our first.

I spoke with lowbubba a minute ago and he said anyone attempting to navigate hiway 127 in Ohio should find an alternate route!
He mentioned something about the "worlds largest garage sale"
Stop and go bumper to bumper traffic.

We'll be traveling to Goshen in the morning from just south of Indy where we've been for the last few days visiting kids.

Sounds like we will be one of the last arrivers.

We came up 31 this afternoon. There is road construction going on in several places, but no work was happening on Saturday. Took I-20/US20 from South Bend and hit more construction there, but again no active workers today. We are at the KOA in Middlebury for the night after an eventful four day trip from Houston.
