dumping tanks when boondocking

Not sure if this is the correct forum or not so feel free to move if required.

There is not a public dump station neaby our home. Is there anything wrong with hooking up the dump hose to the clean out drain of my home septic and dumping this way if I had to? Seems like the same rules that apply to my TT tanks would apply to my home septic?? Would not be the normal operation, I'd still prefer a dump station at campground 90% of the time but when returning from the deer woods etc (boondocking trip) it seems like an option. What am I missing? - Thanks

Not a thing! Go ahead and dump into your cleanout. Also, go to www.campingworld.com and look up Flowjet.

I would say it depends......

What kind of chemicals do you use in your tanks? If they are anti-bacterial then I would be very cautious of dumping into a septic tank.

On the other hand, if they are the bio type then you should be fine.

my 2 cents

We are installing our septic system at our new home, and I talked to the contractor about a couple RV dumps for when the rest of the family visits with their RV's..
long story short. the contractor told me that 1-2 times a month MAX, as long as there is NO chemical treatments in the holding tanks of the RV is fine. (for the home system)... if there is chemical in the holding tank, 1 time.. max a month due to Killing the enzymes that break down the solids in the home system. which eventually makes the septic man show up to pump your tanks.
also since your dumping into the cleanout of your home system, run a few gallons of water 5-7 after dumping to flush everything down into the tank and not clog the cleanout...

This was advice that was given to me.....
