Because many want a bigger fridge, like their one at home, RV manufacturers have started installing residential fridges. Especially in bigger RVs.
We would never have one, because we dry camp so much and we're fine with a 2-way RV fridge.

We still use a cooler when we camp. The fridge gets all the food and perishables and the cooler gets the beverages. I use an ice machine and rotate reusable ice blocks in and out of the freezer to keep the cooler contents cold.

I still think the residential RV fridges should have a propane option.

Not sure if anyone makes a residential-sized 4-door fridge that is 2-way.
If they did, it would be very expensive, compared to a LG or Whirlpool that you can get at Lowe's or HD.

Residential fridge means its a conventional compressor type refrigerator. Can NOT have a propane option.

Manufacturers didn't start including residential refrigerators for those that boondock. Their market is for folks who are seasonal or only ever camp with full hookups. Those folks want a HUGE refrigerator just like at home.

Running them from an inverter is simply a way for manufacturers to say you still have a boondocking option, albeit a poor one, compared to a LP option.

They put residential fridges in because they are about 1/3 the cost of a good electric/propane rv fridge!

That's the ticket! I have eight T-105's in series for a 48 volt bank. Outback MPPT charge controller. Six 265 watt panels.
Getting ready to add three more 265 watt panels and 8 more T-105's in parallel with the first 8. Thinking seriously of adding another string of 3 panels. My solar is in a 3S/2P config right now. I'm really looking forward to a 3S/4P solar that would give me 3KW of power when the sun is out. This is in a remote off grid cabin, not my rv.

I was gonna say... How much space does all this take up? There's not enough roof space on the average boondocking RV for all you're talking about.

Doubled my battery bank. Now have 16 of those Trojan T-105 6 volt golf cart batteries.
51 volts and 460 amps total :-) at the cabin.

Batteries

I have a Residential refer. 4large Trojans (FLA),Solar, 2 inverters, a small generator. Still cheaper than one Onan and all the fuel it consumes (and noise). No problems driving long periods or nightime(Cpat use either).

I'd assume "at the cabin" means just that.
