Cool 2011 Coachmen freedom Express 291QBS

First time buyer...we have rented several types of campers and camped with friends but have never had our own. We have settled on a TT based on what my truck can handle. Can anyone share info about the 2011 Coachman freedom Express 291QBS? The wife likes the layout but couldn't find any reviews or much input on the specific model.

2011 Coachman freedom Express 291QBS

I own a 2012 Coachman Freedom Express 292bhds with the outdoor kitchen. I love ours and have really had no issues with it. It tows great behind my F150. The only items I have noticed was the waste drain is very low and I have trouble hooking up my blue boy tote! The other issue was the outdoor kitchen door rods needed to be modified. Very nice trailer.
Also I should mention on my unit I had to replace the leaf springs the 2nd year of owning it, my tires were hitting the bottom of the trailer. There is not a lot of carrying capacity in my unit which I suspect you may have the same issue. Just take a look under the wheel wells and you should be able to tell.

Love the layout but roof damage

Wife loves the camper but it turned out to have roof damage, interior wall warping above cabinets due to water damage and a buckle outside below the slide. I attached some photos. It's a great price due to the work it needs and I'm a handy carpenter but since this would be our first camper I'm out of my element a bit. I'm not familiar with how to patch roof or even if it's a smart idea. The roof wasn't soft just has a bad tear. Also afraid what I might find once I get started.

Advise and thoughts welcome.

I'm not familiar with working on the roof either. I just inspect it but no issues and no water damage. In your case it could be minor but it also could be severe. If your buying from a dealer get them to fix it or if it's a private sell ask them if they would reduce the cost of repair. If you really want it that may be an option. And if they really want to sell it might work in your favor.

I also have the 292bhds (2015). I love it. No major issues. Be sure your truck can handle the loaded tongue weight. It's near the max for our 2015 RAM 1500 5.7L. Tongue weight should be 12% of the loaded weight.

That said, even with the Azdel siding I would not have bought it with an obvious leak.
