2015 clipper 17bh propane qc

I can’t find the propane quick connect. Does this unit even have one? I thought that was all standard typically. Looking to buy a Blackstone Tailgater.

No, it's not necessarily a standard thing, especially on entry-level trailers like the Clipper.
See if you can find a brochure for the 2015 Clipper line. Look over the features and options lists.

As mentioned, not all units have them.
Crawl around underneath and look for something like this...

Check out page 20, post 193 in the 17FQ mods thread. (Wasn’t sure how to copy and paste the link to the thread here)
I give an outline there of how I added mine...hope it helps, I believe the info should be exactly what you are looking for.

Thank you. That is exactly what is needed. Great work on that writeup. Very detailed.

This is what I’ve assembled thus far in parts. Wish I had a piece of angle stainless like yours. Have to buy a couple washers and a grommet yet. Click image for larger version

Looks like you’ve been shopping, shopping, shopping...lol. The bracket was one I had left from an antenna mount off the boat, got lucky and repurposed it for the mount for the outlet.
Guess we know what you’ll be up to this weekend Sargent!

I'll be camping this weekend and probably work on this while at the site lol.

So I was a little unsure about the Quick Connect from Home Depot ($19.99) so I also ordered another one from Amazon ($14.55). It also has a shutoff valve.

In addition, I found a mounting plate that might just work. I may have to drill out the hole a little but we shall see when it arrives.

Thanks for the help!

Have a great weekend.

The quick connect looks like a winner and the mount looks like start. Once you have it in hand I’m sure you can get it to work with a little tweaking.
You are very welcome...let us know how it goes.

Coming together. Had to drill out that hole a little bit with a stepbit and some elbow grease. It was maybe 1mm too small. Filed it down and fits perfect now.

Just toying with the bracket angle now to see which way I want to mount it.

Have to order a 5ft hose for off the Tailgater to the supply too.

I grabbed like a 20’er, I use ours for the propane fire ring as well.

this port underneath leaves no room to work and getting the cap off has been a pain. Looks like I have to take the whole thing off in order to get enough torque on it. Its like the nut is seized on the thread or something.

Hey Sarjent,
That distribution block (multiport thingy, lol) will need to come away from the frame by loosening the tech screws that hold it to the frame. This will allow you to get a socket or closed end (not open end) wrench on the Brass plug. I would recommend a 6 point socket, as the plug was extremely tight (I do mean crazy ass over torqued) into the distribution block. It would be easy to strip if you don't use the proper tool to remove this plug. I would not use heat (but hey, that just me) under any circumstance for this application. It's brass, it will move.
You will need to have room to work in there when you tighten the right angle fitting (using gas tape) into the block. Once that is all done you can reinstall the block. All the existing hoses stay on the block, it only needs to move away from the frame for better access.
If the nut pattern on the plug is trashed and you are beyond what is stated above, you could try removing hose beside it to get a small pipe wrench on it or another option would be to drill and use an easy out.
Hope that helps...

Is this just a cap? Was thinking about using a nut splitter

It’s a bit blurry but this is the plug that came out of my block, not sure about how the nut splitter might work? Maybe someone else has an idea?
If you can destroy it far enough, I’m sure it’s got to come out....lol.

B.C., thanks for all your help. I’ve abandoned this project because we went out and bought a new Cherokee and traded in the Clipper. Thanks again!
