It'll be located behind your fuse panel or in it depending on they way they installed it.

Just curious. .... why do you want to know where the converter is?
A surge protector when installed runs through your incoming power supply to your fuse box.

Turbs, just wanted to know so I can have options for install. I want to find a spot upstream from the converter where I can mount the surge protector. Trying to install prior the the switchover box for shore power, or is that all part of the converter ? As you know the cable stores in a compartment aft, wondering if I can access that space foe mounting? Any suggestion ?

There are access panels underneath the sink that you can take off and see the box where the power cord stores. Pretty tight quarters with the water pump and water heater.

I was referring to the box that allows ac power from outside in. Does this not come upstream of the converter or is it an internal part of the converter

Power goes into your camper and straight to the fuse panel.
The converter is a mute point in regards to the installation of surge guard.

There is no "box" that allows power in.
Power pedestal to Power cord
Power cord to camper
Camper to fuse panel

under the sink access would work. Only concern is heat from water heater and water from both the water pump and water heater. any suggestions out there ?

I would worry about the "heat" there won't be enough to be concerned about.
