How in the world do you get the outside speakers that are dedicated to I assume the tv when it's mounted to actually play what's on the tv?

Silly question, but you did select that set of speakers on the head unit inside? Probably set C? I haven't used mine yet, I will try and see what I come up with this Saturday.

I've tried every combination I can think of and I can not get them to come on.

If you've got the Jensen like I have they don't. I ask the dealer the same question. Was told TV doesn't play through speakers only DVD and radio.

You can connect an AUX cable from the side/back of the TV to the AUX input on the front of the head unit. Only way to get TV audio through the system, not sure why they don't hook it up directly to the back.
