A/C with Furnace?

During our first trip out with our 282BHDS, we ran the furnace and noticed the A/C unit would run blowing cooler air from the ceiling while blowing warm air from the ducts below. Is this normal? When the set temp is reached, the furnace appears to turn off, but the A/C unit continues to run. I figured it was just circulating the warmer air throughout the camper. Input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Mike

Is the thermostat set to 'AUTO'? Mine will run either A/C or heat to reach the set temp. I didn't notice mine running at the same time when on 'auto'.

turn breaker off for AC and you can use whatever fan mode you desire for heat

2013 Coachman Forest River 302FKV problems

Our Coachman is a serious disaster! We bought it in Maine and moved all the way across the Country to Arizona. Got ripped off big time!! The RV company didn't put the proper sway bar on and we had white knuckles until finally in TN it broke completely. Within 2 miles of where we were, there was a great RV repair place and they put on the proper equipment that we needed. From TN to AZ it hauled great. Our furnace is wired in to the air conditioner and the furnace runs all the time. There is a flaw in the system. Our slide out in the living area was damaged, no support in the shower, the gas oven is 50 to 60 degrees hotter on the left side than the right and we can't use it. Everything burns. We bought a washer/dryer combo and that wasn't installed properly. Now when we use that, it shakes the entire 35' RV. No joke, stuff falls on the floor and off the walls, shakes our glasses. Plus more stuff that is wrong. We are first time buyers of an RV and wanted a nice one. They took advantage of us and it has been just a terrible nightmare. If someone has a fix for the furnace problem, give us a shout. Doesn't matter what brand you buy. We have learned a lot of lessons. What fun!

Cynthia: Sorry about your problems, but I would suggest you read the link in Post #5 above. Then I think you can strike your furnace/AC as a problem. The AC fan is SUPPOSED to run with the furnace. Think of it as a ceiling fan. It takes the hot air that rises to the ceiling and redistributes it so you don't have a great a temperature gradient from the floor to the ceiling. I'm guessing your AC vents are out near the ends of the camper while the furnace cold air return is probably in the middle of the camper.
