AC problem - Dometic BriskAir 57915.331 with remote controller

We just bought a 2005 Colorado 5th wheel. When we looked at it to buy, the AC was on and blowing cold air. Maiden voyage this weekend and we cannot get the air to work correctly: when we turn it on (using the remote) the compressor comes on but not the fan. When we change settings, we can get the fan to come on, but the compressor then turns off.

As per remote instructions, we set it to cold/ac, set the desired temp, set the fan speed. Yet we continually have the problem...compressor/no fan or fan/no compressor. Surely it's user error and something simple, right?
