Add On's at the factory

About six weeks ago we ordered at 28 foot, Coachmen Catalina 243 RBS Banner Edition through our dealer in Nebraska. Arrival is estimated to be in March. We wanted the chairs in the dinette, instead of the booth, which necessitates ordering. The dealer tells us that any "extras" like the Oxygenics shower, etc, is completed at the dealer. Is this true? Or are there Add On's that be completed at the factory (upgraded foam for the chairs etc)

Things like the Oxygenics shower head are definately dealer installed. Forget about the upgraded foam for the chairs done at the factory. Most items like chairs, fridge, furnace, etc are made elsewhere and installed on the line. The assembly line would move much slower if add on's like that are done during the manufacturing process. Don't know what the dealer quoted you for installing the Oxygenics shower head but you could save $ by purchasing and installing it yourself.

Seam like every time I ask about upgrades the dealers tell me "very limited". It's like cookie cutter manufacturing of RVs. I generally carry a list of what I'm looking for in a model. The dealer may pick two items from the list. It's not good if it's not seen on the lot.
