I have a Coachmen XTR 2146BHX. The solar panel is mounted on the roof and charging the battery. I don't see a controller. Is your controller located inside the trailer?

My controller is located on the back wall of the front pass through storage on the passenger side.

Thank you. I don’t recall seeing one there but I need to look again.

Yes sir. After several outings this summer with electrical hookups and water we decided to dry camp last weekend. We had the fridge chilled down on shore power before departure, fridge set to off grid and we ran out of battery by the second night. I was frustrated because the charge controller displayed red and d for de bug so I put my tester on it and the wiring was backwards at the controller. The panel was going to the battery hookup and the battery was going to the panel terminals. After reversing the terminals, the controller now flashes green for absorption properly and green for a fully charged battery as it should. Can’t wait to see how the second dry outing goes. If we have good sun it should keep up if we conserve on other stuff. Also didn’t realize the need for a separate charge controller for the portable panel hookup but now understand why because every user will most likely purchase a different size portable setup and it would have been difficult sizing just one charge controller not knowing what users will purchase.

Thought I would give a little update. I took my Spirit to a dealer for warranty. That was in June, still waiting to get the work done. I am told the parts are on the way, but they have been for awhile. A few new items I have noticed and will discuss with the dealer:
1. When the trailer is leveled on the passenger side, the refrigerator door will not latch properly, when leveled on the left, no problem.
2. Piano hinge for the large storage behind the TV is rusting and the screw tips seem to be coming through the finished side of the wood. Have that issue in other places also, including the floor.
3. I noted originally that the booth was not secured to the wall on the left side. I have since noted that when the slide is out, the booth sits against the wall. When the slide is in the booth separates from the wall by a couple of inches. It is level on the left side right now, so I'm not sure what happens when leveling is not required or on the right side, but this seems to be a major problem to me.

To say the least, I'm not impressed by the build quality.
