TV wall bracket mounting

Quote:
We just brought home our 187RB and are having a difficult time finding the mounting location for the tv. Its not seeming like the screws are catching onto anything. I told hubby to stop for the night. I was afraid he would Swiss cheese the wall. Suggestions?
Woodstock,

Discretion is the better part of valor. Did your coach have the wall sticker plastered in the suggested location for mounting? Mine did and it's forward of the sink and top cabinet. I haven't attempted to mount the bracket yet.

Keep me posted.

Hi Richard. I emailed the dealer who I will eventually pick the trailer up from and my sales rep said he’d remove the interior molding and evaluate the problem and if the can fix it before delivery they will. Ben Ruiz (Coachmen rep) gave me a much different response then you got. Let us know how they remedy your situation. With our current pandemic, who knows when I’ll be able to pick up our new trailer yet alone use it.

OMG they changed the mounting location completely thats why. If it wasn’t for the contact at coachman working with us it woulda not been known....aka that sticker is completely in the wrong location for our 2020 187RB!!!! Now to get the paper to cover all the holes.

It got moved to above the window without anyone’s knowledge. We’re getting more of the wall covering to cover up the swiss cheese.

Wodstock, if you don’t mind me asking, what is the exact measurement to where you ended up finally finding the backer board, and in the picture are all four screws in the backer. Thanks

One other thing for those who have mounted a tv, did you go with a 12v or regular ac powered television set?

Ok folks, here's the important part of the print that shows where the TV backer is. 7" down from the top of the roof, 1.5" thick roof, means it's 5.5" down from the ceiling. 8" x 8" backer, 1/2" plywood. Use 1" long screws max, recommended #10. This change was made in December 2019.

Just a cheap Westinghouse 24" TV. It was the display model at BJ's (store closing) for just over $50. The mount we used comes with 4 screws, I added two more. It locks against the wall, with a pull strap to release it. Seems to work well. I suppose a 32" TV will fit in that location, but we decided this TV would be plenty.

Oh, and our "TV Backer" sticker was not in the right location. It was in the void between the two windows. There's nothing there to put a screw into aside from the thin wallboard.

Yep, all 4 screws are in the backer. If you look at the picture, you can see where I taped off the edge of the 8" square plywood backer. I also taped where the mount had to be placed so the TV would fit below the ceiling. I wanted it as close to the ceiling as possible.

Thanks for the updates guys. I’ll be using a Vizio 32” that I have sitting around in the 187RB. I doubt very much my wife will want to boondock much, so there is no need to get a 12v television for us.

Yea now that we have the 24 inch the 32 would fit. So if this one dies a Roku tv would replace. I think we have a teeny tiny 12v tv.

If he’s willing to set up, I’m game for whatever.

I took the trailer to the local dealer. FGirst question I was asked "did you purchase it here." To which I replied that "No, and I'm sure you're going to handle this situation differently than if it was bought from ya'll." To which I received no response.

The service manager took a look at the two concerns I have. The answer to which is that the trailer will have to be take to the factory to be remedied.

I have an email out to Ben the Warranty Service Rep.

I have a boat load of pics of the opening between the inner wall and fiberglass front cap.

Attached are pics of the gap between the garnish and window at the right vertical side. For what ever the reason when the pics were uploaded some were rotated 90 degrees left. I don't know how to remidy that.

Apex Nano Summit Design flaw???

Hmmm, Ben when we emailed him about the lack of insulation (among other issues) said we could add more insulation. I never realized how little there was. We have yet to take off our trim to see how bad it is for us. I would assume similar...

Am i seeing that right about 1 inch of insulation?!?

This is what I received from FR...

If the window bezel is removed you can see a whole lot more and the addition of extra fiberglass insulation installed with a yardstick or alike can insulate the whole front wall better and decrease the cool that you feel coming from around the window bezel. The key is to not see the insulation through the front glass.
