Awning: Slow, no go

Camping at Miami County, OH Fairgrounds in our 6-month old (2nd trip out) Coachmen Viking 21RD.

Went to retract the awning and nothing, nada, zip. Motor seemed to want to try but challenging. I helped by putting some lift assist hand pressure to the arm on the motor side and it finally retracted fully.

Any known issues with these awnings? Had no previous issues at home or on the first trip out last month. It just seems like a VERY sluggish motor now.

I know there is a 7/16" but accessible for manual operation but reaching it would be another story. Thinking about making an operating arm with a swivel head 7/16" 3/8" drive socket for future use.

I assume you are hooked to 120V power, battery is charged and theres no other issues?

That is affirmative. Shore line in and working; battery fully charged. It just seems to be something with the motor (as if it is weak). That seems unlikely to me but who knows.
