Cable in an Apex 289TBSS

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get cable TV working. I am hooked to the cable/sat connection on the outside and I've tried a out every combination of the patch panel seen below. I then try to auto program and get nothing.

I think you need to go in to the TV menu for the TV and select cable.

See if that works....

Yeah, I did, and ran auto program. It didn't find anything through it's scan.

Does it work for OTA channels? If connecting to a cable system, do you have your OTA antenna booster turned off?

So with that button pushed and the light on with it connected to TV1 on the patch panel, scanning for OTA works fine.
