Coachmen Trailer Leans Too One Side
2017 Freedom Express FET 192RBS leans to the passenger side. Have owned the trailer since new, stored in same location. After last trip, noticed that the trailer appeared to be leaning towards the passenger side. Level indicates trailer is un-level. Measuring from ground to several points on trailer sides also indicates one side of trailer is 1 ˝ to 2 inches lower than the other side.
The trailer pulled home with no noticeable difference. Have checked and adjusted tire pressure. Inspected in springs and both side “look” the same. Verified there is not a loading issue – nothing in trailer except for pots/pans/dishes that are stored where they have always been stored.
At a loss on what to check next. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day.

Yes sir! Parked in my driveway for 4 years now. That why is was easy to see it leaning. Yes, used same level that says trailer is leaning - indicates my driveway is level especially from left/right.

My wife collects a stone from every state we pass thru , maybe your wife has a large stone collection that she is hiding under the sink .

You must know my wife. Yes, she does pick up a lot of rocks (big ones) and my yard is full of them. Did a double check, no rocks anywhere in trailer.

Measure from top of axle to frame on both sides....same measurement?

Measured from bottom of Frame to middle of nut that connects the two axle assembly to the Frame. Measurements were within 1/8 inch of each other. Also measured from bottom of Frame to middle of a nut in middle of of the forward leaf springs, were also within 1/8 inch.
Think this scares me more.

What type of suspension system do you have....torsion or leaf spring?

Ours leaned from a flattened leaf spring which you really couldn't see except from a certain angle. When you look at the trailer, do you have the same distance between the wheel well and the tires? I'm assuming you checked the tires.
The other possibilities, floor or frame rotting or bent are pretty remote and scary.

There is a 1/2 inch difference when measuring from the Frame to outside of Wheel Well.
Attached are two pictures of the 'low' side.

Again, are you sure the gap between the top of the axle to the frame is the same on both sides?
Didn't change tires on one side did you??

Before I measured from the top of Frame to a nut holding the entire spring assembly - results were within 1/8 inch.
Just remeasured but from top of Frame to middle of Axle (the big round tubes running between the wheels). Results: LowerSideFront = 10 1/2 inches
HighSideFront = 11 inches. LowerSideBack = 10 3/4 inches, HighSideBack = 11 inches.
Same tires/wheels for past 18 months, ~ 20K miles. All 4 are at 60 psi.
Took pots/pans and put in middle of bed. Nothing extra is now on the low side.
Inspected low side underneath and inside and can see on water damage of anything that looks strange.

One more measurement. Measure from the top of the tires to the highest point in the wheel well. If that measurement is within tolerance, then your problem would appear NOT to be in the frame, suspension, sub-structure....and no clue what else it could be.

Finally found a difference. Measured from middle of wheel at top of wheel to the bottom of the floor(I assume). The low side is between 3/4 and 1 inch lower.
LowerSideFront = 4 1/4 inches. HigherSideFront = 5 inches.
LowerSideBack = 4 1/4 inches. HigherSideBack = 5 1/4 inches.
Do all these measurements mean the "cab" has somehow became lower on one side??

That is significant but I'm have trouble imagining how that is possible. If you measured from the top or center of the axle to the top or bottom of frame, the only way the floor could be lower is if the floor is sinking....but that should be noticeable while under the trailer.
If it were mine, I would drop the belly panels and see if any of your floor structural member welds have broken. That would be a relatively easy fix for a welder but a major PITA.

The big money says its the springs or a related part. I've had to replace them on my last 2 5ers. They use the lowest weight spec they can get away with.
I see you are in south TX. I10 will ruin a trailer suspension quicker than any other road in America. Personal experience.
