Do I need 30amp to run my Furnace ?

First time owning a RV and just needing know if my Gas Furnace will run off a 120 house plug or the camper 12V batteries ?

The answer is "Yes."

The furnace runs on 12 VDC.

The source of the 12 VDC will either come from your battery if you're not hooked up to shore power, or will come from the converter (changes 110 VAC to 12 VDC) if you're hooked up to shore power.

If you have a battery switch, turn it on (usually means pulling it out).

Keep in mind running the furnace on battery without being plugged in will drain you battery rather quickly.
