Finally got it- Mods in progress

Finally took possession of the non-current (new) 2011 21BH Catalina.
It does not come with scissor jacks standard ?? Thought they all did?

Anyway, had outside shower installed and ordered extra doors. I will be making drawers for under the bed slide outs and drawers for under the dinette... my wife just hates taking up the seats on dinettes. Also adding shelves in the wardrobes. Adding another outside storage door in the front... our unit only has one. And I am adding a six foot pullout in the front stroage for easy access to all our tools and stuff.
And then re-caulking the entire outside seams ... the unit sat for over a year on the lot so alot of cracks. Noticed screws/bolts holding the awning are rusting, better replace them before rust stains start... and radio antenna is rusting... lots to fix up on a new unit, but it really is worth it for the price.

Congrats on the new TT. Seems like a lot off work at the start, but geeting it like it needs to be is IMHO worth it. I did some things the DW wanted when ti got home.

I added doors to under the dinette seats. Good storage, but unit did not have doors or drawers. Also added door to under seat as soon as you open the door (still under the dinette seat), but close enough you don't need to enter the unit.

My unit does not have a silverware drawer either... working on that this week. Adding some good quality extendable drawer glides under the stove area when you open the door. Will post when done too.

Awesome job, looks factory fresh. You're giving me ideas for our new 2012 Catalina 261BHS!

Here is the silverware drawer with good metal-bearing glides I added and had a hitch welded on for bikes

Yep, hope the OP doesn't have any frame issues, cause the warranty may have been voided by doing this mod.

I was informed. It was installed from an RV authorized frame (and box) repairman. There always may be an issue, but I have had it done on my pop-up and other RV for years with no issues. *fingers crossed please* Its only holding 3 bikes, less than 200lbs plus bike rack itself.

Anybody do any additional sealing to the shower ?

Looking at the photos of your added cupboard doors, how did you get them to look like they are factory? Picking up our identical trailer in a few days and looking to make similar mods.

Also since you've had it for a year now, any reviews or tips?

sorry for late reply. just sold the unit... we loved it, but going seasonal and looking for 30ft unit with quad bunks.
All said and done, we liked it... but would prefer ducted air with thermostat control. It was perfect for out family of 4 and we traveled a lot with it. I was quality unit... no warranty issues, no leaks, no appliance issues- a nice solid unit.
