First real issue with catalina

Went to sit my fat but on the couch and it went crunch!!! It was nice of the factory to use a jointed piece of wood to support a jackknife.

wow - that does seem like some pretty poor engineering. are you going to fix it yourself? maybe get something a little more substantial that engineered white pine.

Yea..I am going to fix it this week....Yale the whole thing apart and replace with something a bit more substantial. Got our last trip of the season this weekend so by the time I take it back to the shop plus gas it's not worth it in my opinion.

Problem solved. Rebuilt the jackknife sofa better than new with a $2.50 2x4 in about 20 minutes. Still hard to believe what they put in this thing and expect it to hold up to regular use.

good work - that looks much more solid. I never liked the flimsy feel of the jackknife sofas in some units. I bet yours feels much better now.
