Fresh water tank FE 246RKS
While winterizing my trailer I noticed a significant bulge in the plastic undercover belly beneath the fresh water tank. I had just finished removing the drain plugs from this tank and was surprised to discover when I pressed up on the bulge a significant amount of water then discharged from the open drain. Removing the rear portion of the under belly cover I determined that the plastic tank had bowed down beneath the two supporting cross bars far enough to prevent the tank from draining properly. There is no lateral support under the water tank allowing the tank to bulge under the weight of the water. I rarely use this tank and though I was traveling with an empty one only to discover it was not draining properly and was still partially filled. It now is supported both laterally and across and is back in its original position. If you have a similar unit, you may want to check yours and make sure you add antifreeze to your fresh water tank. Your empty tank may not be empty!
