you can gently tug the fins near the outer edges and it'll lift the faceplate away from the trim / base ring. it just snaps in place (pretty cheap plastic) Having a trim tool handy is useful
I'm hoping to up-size the ducting to the 'master' soon - had to pop them all off recently to inspect
