How to fill fresh water tank

I have a 2019 Coachmen Chaparral Lite and love the 5th wheel. I am at a loss as to how to fill the fresh water tank from a 5 gallon Jerry can. I had a Jayco trailer before this unit and it had a Gravity feed connection that we would use when doing extended boondocking. The photo below is the water panel associated with the usual hose connections outside the trailer.

How do I fill the fresh water tank with out a city water connection available.

Thanks

If no gravity fill port I'd invest in a pump setup like shown in numerous posts on this forum. Then use it to pump water into the tank through the city water hookup with the pictured valves in the "tank fill" positions.

Use a pump just like the one installed in your RV and then you'll have a spare should anything happen to installed pump.

That kind of pump should empty a 5-gal water can in under 2 minutes.

Okay. Guess I'll be doing some more research.

Thanks for the reply though

It appears that your system isn’t designed for “gravity fill” from a water can, and is for pressurized water to fill the water tank. I would suggest getting a 12 volt water pump and connecting hoses to go from jerry can to pump, pump to city water connection. I have a normal gravity fill connection, and I use a 12V water pump connected to an external water tank to fill my onboard fresh water tank. Works well, and only cost $20 on Amazon.

Put your system to fill tank position, connect winterize hose to port above the valves in your picture. Put end of winterize hose in fresh water bucket (I use 6 gallon water jerry cans from walmart) and turn on water pump. It will pump out of Jerry can into your fresh water tank.

I just got a 2021 Chaparral Lite 274BH and I was trying to figure out the same thing.

This (above) worked for me!

Thanks for the advice.

My auxiliary water pump showed up last weekend I am mounting in on a board with wiring from the solar port. That should do the trick
