Ladder Addition

I'm new to this site and looking to give as well as receive some info. I own a 2011 Coachmen Apex 17FB travel trailer. I'm debating on whether it would be worthwhile to add a ladder onto the back of it for accessing the roof area easier rather then to have to drag an extra ladder along. Any thoughts on whether this would be worthwhile to do and has anyone else done a similar upgrade..?

Just wondering why you'd need roof access while out camping?

BTW: Looks like a nice clean rig! Congrats!

I'd rarely really need access to the roof but it would make life easier if and when I wanted to wash/repair the roof plus get at the A/C unit, it would be more for service then camping. I've seen some people have their bikes mounted of the ladders. I think that wouldn't be a very smart idea since it'll stress out and weaken the wall. I just thought that having it there would be a nice feature for the odd time when needed. All the big rigs tend to have them but I haven't seen them on smaller rigs like mine..

I'm sure structurally, the big rear window is why there's no ladder. Generally, if there is no ladder standard or no option for one, there are no backers for one.
I was told and read, that rear kitchen models also don't have ladders because of structural issues.
