Leaking pex

The vinyl tubing connections under my outdoor kitchen sink continue to drip out the top of the hose. The connections have been replaced and are tight but when hooked up to city water connection there is still a constant drip coming out of the connection. I am also using a 40-45 psi water pressure regulator. Also tried two different ones. So it’s not a pressure issue.

Any ideas on solutions?

First of all what you are pointing to the photos is not PEX. It is nylon braid vinyl tubing.

Maybe replace the clamps on the nylon braid hose with these?

^^^^those would be too small. I think the OD of the 1/2" nylon braided hose is 3/4"

Leaking pex

It can’t be air tight if water leaks out as air molecules are smaller than water molecules. Just replace it with a standard hose clamp and you should be fine.

What happens is the vinyl hose displaces while under compression and then leaks after some number of cycles.

The clamps the other users post should work just fine too.

ETA: if the connections were replaced perhaps a knife was used to cut the old hose off and the fitting has been scored. This is a very typical symptom when a knife is used.

They were all replaced by the dealer in their attempt to solve this issue, which obviously didn’t work. So I don’t have the pex tool or experience working with them.

This is a common problem because the RV manufacturers can not seem to comprehend that the braided hose has a larger inside diameter (ID) than the PEX. They use PEX fittings which makes the braided hose loose on the fitting. You can put a normal screw type hose clamp on there and you might get it to not leak but you have to tighten the ever lovin’ dickens out of them to get it to seal. Making it that tight deforms the braided hose a bit so the longevity of the repair is something I am not sure about. I have replaced a couple of those fittings with Shark Bite and have had no leaks since.

That is not a 'sharkbite' clamp. Use some type of tin/metal snips to cut the raised metal part. The rest of the 'clamp' will peel away around the hose.

What I would try is to wrap some Teflon tape around the elbow (as the hose is a little bigger than the elbow connection), push hose onto elbow and then put on a regular hose clamp. Tighten just enough to stop any leaks and not distort the hose. Check on connections every now and then after several uses.

I had every one of those fittings (5) in wet bay start leaking simultaneously about one year into ownership. Had to cut off original clamps, cut off deformed hose at each end, and put new PEX clamps on. No issues in the several years since. Either tech that installed original clamps didn't know what they were doing, or the tool was out of calibration (yes, PEX tools required calibration, they come with a gauge to do it).

I had that type of leak on the toilet water feed line. Flushing it would cause just enough of a water hammer to cause water to leak between the fitting and hose. Ended up removing the hose clamp, cutting the hose a little shorter and using regular fuel line hose clamps on the fitting. Couldn't see the use of replacing the loose clamp with another one of the same design.
