Manual slide operation on 12 28dds

Hello all,

Just wandering if anyone has found how to manually operate the slide room on a 2012 Coachmen 28dds. I have not had any problems but I would like to know how to do it just in case. The dealer was no help at all, surprise, surprise! I have looked under the trailer but everything is covered up and I don't want to tear up all the belly plastic hunting for the motor. If anyone knows pretty well where to look I would appreciate it and if you have actually done it that would be even better!
Thanks in advance!

Locate the screw mechanism when the slide is extended and then look on the opposite side of the trailer for a rod with a cross pin in it or a hex.

Ok, is that just to locate where to find what's needed to manually operate the slide or do I have to do something with the rod on the opposite side of the trailer? I would assume somewhere on the slide motor is a place to put a crank or drill motor, is that a fair assumption? Thanks for your reply!

When you find the end, you should have a crank handle with the socket built into it that you just put on the rod and start cranking.

My Coachmen had a bottle cap cover over the 3/4 drive.

On our 28dds it is located just left of the stairs through a little access hole. Hope to never need to use it.

You know I looked at that hole in the side of the camper many, many times and wrote it off as something for the exterior propane hookup! You are exactly right, I looked under the camper and there it is! Thank you all for your help, I was looking for something completely different, I wouldn't have even thought to look on the opposite side of the camper. Now that you guys found it for me I have just one more question about it. Do you have to do anything before manually cranking in the slide like disconnecting the battery? Thanks again, you all are great!
