Mystery electrical switch

I have a 2012 Chaparral Lite 267RLS . I noticed that there is a red battery switch in the left storage compartment . When I turn it off all the 12 volt lights etc still work. Does anyone know what this switch does?

Are you still connected to shore power, when doing this?

It's a battery disconnect switch.

It is indeed a battery disconnect switch but it does not disconnect every 12 volt circuit.

IF you are plugged in then most if not all devices will work, light Tv ECT.

As many people have stated if you are plugged in to shore power you won't notice anything not working

It disconnects the batteries from your power system.

When it's off
  • If you're plugged into shore power, 12 V stuff will work but your batteries will not be charged by your converter.
  • If you're not plugged into shore power, nothing will work.
