Hello all I got a husky centerline HD hitch today excited for sure. It came with two sets of torsion bars up to 800lb and up to 1200lb
My camper is about 8000lb witch at 10% my hitch should be about 800 lb so do I use the 800 or should I be using the 1200 torsion bars last hitch I had was a round bare Reese with 750 lb bars and did well but I felt there was too much bounce so what are your thoughts thank a bunch for your input
Congratulations on the new hitch. Your 10% guess on tongue weight might be a tad low. At 12% your tongue weight is 960lbs. I'd use the "up to 1,200lbs bars".

My truck has air bags in it. Looking for recommendations oh how to approach set up with air shocks
At 70psi the camper is perfectly level but front is up 3/8" and rear is exactly were it was with no load. There are no YouTube videos that use air bags so it has been trial and error for me
where was the front with the trailer but without the torsion bars? you want to recover at least half of the rise without bars, a little more is better. don't bring the front below the height without the trailer

My suggestion would be to drop bag pressure to low. Hitch up so that front returns to near stock height. Then inflate bags till it just starts to lift rear.
I've found that having full bags causes my trailer to bounce more. Bags are good for bed weight, not as good for pulled weight.

I bought the hitch used for $250 good deal
I set the camper up level with no pressure in air bags and then put pressure in till it started to lift it ended up being 35 psi
The truck wheel wells are about 1/2" higher than front but that is 1" lower than its original height font is 1/4" high I will be going on my next trip in 2 weeks. I will update on my next trip

I have the Andersen hitch and air bags. My hitch weight is 1071 lbs. I set my weight distribution screws to 3 turns, my rear tires to max 51psi front tire's to 46psi and then I air up the bags then gradually drop pressure until both sides reach 18 psi. At this point my front wheel wells are only up 1/2 inch and rear are even, trailer is level and pulls great.
I've got the Husky Centerline WDH and use the 1200 pound bars and airbags on the truck. The 1200 is a bit high for me. I'm probably 900 tongue but it's been a real stable setup. 10 - 12 PSI in the bags. No bounce. Husky C/L is noisier than heck though when turning but I like not having to pull the bars off when backing into spots that are challenging to get into.
I finally got to go camping
Bags were at 25 lb but I had a lot of wood in the bed of the truck centerline hd hitch all set up nice it towed well little sway not to bad. On my way home emptied the hot water tank and move couple things forward As well my fridge in the back was empty completely full on the up. The camper towed much better no sway at all very happy thx for all the post most appreciated
