no weep hole in escape window

Hi All ,

Do you mind taking a look at your emergency escape window ?

The rain water leak inside underneath the emergency window. Upon inspecting , I do not see weep hole to channel rain water out. Like the attached picture. I was told by dealer that emergency escape window do not have weep hole is that true ? My other window has weep hole , also see the attached.

Are your emergency window also do not have weep hole ?

No weep hole in ours and here’s why, the emergency window hinges from a frame and nests into a frame. Water cannot (or rather should not) be able to pass between the window sash and the frame by design. It’s identical to any casement window ( the ones that crank open) in a house. In contrast, the other windows (sliders) have a moveable element inside a track, water is able to collect in the track and is able to drain out the weep hole. Make sense?
