One year review of our 2021 Apex Ultra-Lite

We’ve had our 2021 Apex 288BHS for one year now and towed it about 11,000 miles.

Lots and lots of problems but warranty coverage has been excellent and everything was covered without a fight.

Kitchen sink not draining x 2
Kitchen sink leaking x 3
Bathroom sink leak
Warped bathroom cabinet from leak
wood trim on slide fell off x2
Both bedroom sliding doors tracks falling off ceiling
Main door window water leak
2 Stabilizer jack not fully retracting
Water heater control panel died
Toilet leaking at base
Kitchen Back splash bulging
Bench seat cover not cut to size

I had one Castle Rock tire showing dry rot cracking so replaced all 5 tires at less than 7 months old.

Love the camper but wouldn’t mind something slightly bigger.

Wow, I just posted my list of repairs after 3 trips (see my post 2021 Apex 256BHS), but it's short compared to your list. I hope this isn't what I have to look forward to!

Couple other issues that didn’t get repaired I forgot about
1) outdoor shower faucet leaks badly when used
2) black tank flush hose to tank is too long so it’s kinked and doesn’t allow enough pressure

We spent a total of 59 nights in this camper. Right now I’ve been offered $5,000 more than we originally paid for it brand new a year ago to trade it in, which is crazy. Seriously considering it.

Wow! I'd probably have to consider it too. I saw a listing for one a few days ago that was smaller than mine, similar model, 3 years old, and only $3k less than what I just paid a month ago.

Do you remember the cause of the toilet leak?

I originally paid $23,350 for it (MSRP $35,648) and my sell outright cash offer is $28,500 or $29,000 if I go the consignment route.

Which means they are going to end up selling it used for near original MSRP.

Looking at replacing with either a Grand Design or Keystone Outback.

I’ll see if I can pull my paperwork. I believe it was a loose fitting.

Done with Forest River??

BTW, Grand Design makes some fine RV's

We like the layouts that have the full sized double bunks rotated with an actual door to close the kids in.

Freedom Express 294BHDS fits the bill but it looks like a new floor plan that’s not out yet.
