Oxidation

What type of buffer should I use to get off 4 yrs of oxidation ( battery powered or corded).
what product to use?
Do I wax after I get the oxidation off? Is there one product to do both?
Looking for different methods.
I bought a 39 foot 5th wheel that is 4 yrs old and is oxidized pretty good.

I'd rather pay for a detailer to do it
then just keep up with seasonal waxing

BUT if ya gotta do it no shortcuts ..... don't be tempted

wash really good

good polish using a fine cutting compound ... a harbor freight polisher

add wax and buff it off with lots of fresh rags

plenty of good quality polishes and waxes on the market
I used Starbrite for my boat

Make sure you know the difference ....
polish is the cutting of the surface
wax is the protection of the surface

McGuire's cleaner/wax might be worth a try. It did a good job on ours with a Harbor Freight buffer.

Tons of videos on YouTube that show the process. To do it right will take a lot of time.

Here is one such video:

X2 on the McGuire's Marine Cleaner/ Wax.
I've done mine twice. It works great and takes the oxidation off with little effort. I don't use a buffer, just microfiber towels.

I have had the best luck with this one: https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-M613...38572716&psc=1

And I use this polisher with the medium density foam pads. https://www.harborfreight.com/57-amp...waAqjyEALw_wcB

Thanks. Never noticed the premium, but will try it in the future, but I've been happy with the regular.

To me, it seems to apply and come off easier. For my badly oxidized front cap, it takes at least 2 applications. The rest of the RV just takes one. I apply with the oribital polisher very thoroughly, and remove by hand.

I think the original is easy on / easy off, but am anxious to try the premium.. I've noticed that the regular seemed to unoxide (is that a word) my decals, but needed a few coats. I still apply by hand and remove by hand.
Thanks again!
