Picked up my new Apex 300 bhs today...

So far we've been going through it putting our things in there from our old camper. Been tightening screws here and there and straightening things. One thing I dont like is the dvd player only has an audio output through the speakers, not a rca connection to the tv. Also the antenna I cant get to work. During the walk thru the guy said he programmed a few channels, I trusted him and wasnt real worried about checking it... Wish I had now. Will be going to Ocean Lakes for halloween in 2 weeks so we'll see how it goes.

The antenna on my new unit did not work either. After some troubleshooting, when I unplugged the factory cable from the back of the unit it worked when put my finger in the back and made contact. I went to Radio Shack and got the parts and built my own antenna with the motorola connector and it works perfectly (now). I can only assume that the factory guys put a screw or something through the antenna cable from the top of the unit.

I too trusted my guy during the walk through. I should not have either.

anybody got any tips to troubleshoot the antenna issue? this is driving me crazy... I turn the booster on, put the tv in air mode ( antenna ) and program I get nothing. I would get 20-25 channels with my old camper parked in my driveway. We dont have analog through our cable system here so I cant check that either... well I can but it'll be a PITA...

Is the source selected to TV and not HDMI or VGA, etc... Check with remote by pushing the Source button..

I wonder if the booster is not connected correctly to the antenna? Mine works to both my TVs in my 300BHS with no issue.

Do you use airbags in your rear coils on your Ram? I had a 2012 and now have a 2014 with a 3.92 rear and 8 speed. It pulls the 300BHS like its not even back there and I'm getting 10.5 mpg on the highway while pulling it.

But the coil sag with the Ram is ridiculous. The 2014 is definitely better than the 2012, but I installed AirLift 1000s in the coils for $70 from Amazon. The 1000 pounds of lift removes all rear squat. Much more economical than the $1800 factory option. I'm also using the Equalizer hitch, which you also appar to have judging by your pics.

Major Malfunction have you considered Timbrens?

Yeah, I did a lot of research on it all. And then after looking at the AirLift 1000s, it was easily the most bang for the buck. $70 versus $225. They bags slide into the coils and ran the air hoses to the side of the rear license plate. 30 lbs for each bag and 1000 pounds of lift. Lifetime warranty.

Every system has its pros and cons, I went with price point and have not had any regrets.

I know my local dodge dealer has replacement coil springs that are 30% stiffer. I think around 400 bucks.

Explored that route, but this is also a daily driver for the family. Stiffening the springs would make it a skittish tooth chipper on anything but the smoothest roads. I guess it's the tradeoff these days since we've made pickups into the real SUV!

I have bags but didn't have air in them at the time of the pic. I also upgraded my springs to ttc coils.

I got the antenna fixed as well. Loose connection between antenna and camper coax

Timbres are a waste of money and the coils I got don't change ride quality much at all

That's why I ordered my 2015 Laramie with the 4 corner air suspension. Yes, it was $1600 or so, but in the big picture, it was $$ well spent when your buying a truck with a $50K window sticker. And NO, I didn't pay anywhere near that after negotiating and rebates! And YES, it is perhaps the best option on the truck. WELL WORTH the money spent.
