We have noticed the black cable slightly sticking out the bunk end, on occasion. It was also sticking out of the one we walked through at the RV show. The Apex guy said they make sure there's enough so that there's no issues upon running out the slide. We just tuck it back under.

Another item that has come up - DW was trying to use the stove exhaust fan, but the outside vent will not open. Any idea how to get it to release so it can swing open and closed as designed? It looks like it has to clips outside on the bottom of the vent panel but I can't get anything to budge. Heng's website doesn't give any information.

Should just open after little clips are released, maybe some silicone is holding it closed? I actually moved my hood out and sealed it up better

How do you get the clips to release? I've pushed, pulled and prodded to the point I'm afraid I'm about to break them off!

Yep... Those are a bugger to snap open. But I've never not been able to get them open. I only snap one shut when I close it.

That's a nice closet set-up! Are they just stacked, or fastened in place?

Lower bins are from Amazon... They stack nicely and have tabs that snap in so they stay put. A fifth bin is about an inch too tall for the lower closet. I plan to add something under the bottom bin to give me an 8" high fifth shelf. The top bins we've had around since our first camper... Not sure where we got those (but I think it was Lowes). We're probably going to swap them out for another two like the lower ones.

Potential new Apex owner

Just realized I didn't provide a picture of the USB station from inside the shelf... I removed the panel that was inside that separated the two sections... Came out much easier than the front panel.

We went to Sams Club and picked up our new mattress. It was on b/o... Full sized plush-top queen... has to be one with a flexible frame cause it just squeezes in... But a perfect fit once it's in. The one that came with the unit is unsleepable, in my opinion.
We're scheduled to head out on Friday... Local state park with full hookups. Rain is in the forecast, however, so we'll see.
Good luck on your maiden voyage. Hope you love it as much as we do.

Not sure if any of you guys have them, but I suggest a pair of awning poles for support in windy conditions. I transferred these over to my Apex, but don't have any pictures yet. You can get the brackets from Old Coot on these boards. Takes 5-minutes to install the brackets... I ordered a pair of painters poles off Amazon and drilled some holes for up/down adjustments. Some guys use ratchet straps and a twist-in anchor to keep it stable... I prefer a floor flange and tent stakes.

Was a quick drive for us, i can def feel how much lighter this camper is! And i love the blue ox hitch!
Ill have to look into that awning mod, wind was slapping it up a few times last night! Are we suppose to tighten the knob on the awning? I just left them loose for more give.

At each lower corner of the vent flap ( outside) there is a small lever. The bottom pivots (snaps) away from the vent door. Put your finger on bottom of small plastic lever and rotate it away from the cover.

I believe you should lower one side and tighten it for water runoff. Not exactly sure which is better concerning wind. Before I installed the poles, I brought the awning in anytime the wind got >10mph... Which was almost always. And I never left it out while we slept. I've heard over and over that they really won't take much of a gust, so I never wanted to chance it. With the poles, I hardly think about it anymore. Leave them up all weekend long, unless it gets real bad.
