Love ours
We were the same way when we saw our Apex 288bhs. We were hesitant on the length, towing with a Nissan Armada, but so far it has towed great. We have a blue ox swaypro 750 and couldn't be happier.

Any 288bhs owners find/upgrade to a porcelain toilet that fits? We tried installing a Dometic 310 but I hit the wall and need about an inch from the back right corner.

I assume you have the 9000# tow Armada? We purchased an Armada to tow our previous TT after Nissan told us they all had that capacity... Only to find out later that the SV trim is only 6500# tow.
The wife and I briefly talked about a full sized toilet... But our current mod list is longer than our bank account can support.
I'll be checking in on those welds this weekend.

I too eventually want that surge protector you listed. I should prolly use a water filter but never have, im draining the water heater and flushing it after every trip.

And I really like being able to keep an eye the amperage draw at any given time (the wife does make fun of me for this).
That is the filter I use. You can also find them at Walmart, if they have an RV section. I screw on my regulator, then the filter, and then the hose. Works just fine. I figure we don't drink the campground water anyway, so the filter doesn't have to be overly advanced.

Do you use one of their boxes to secure it? I worry too much about theft...
I'm actually in the fence about the portable. I'm an engineer and want to see the cycling too! Plus I'm not sure where I'd mount the fixed one.

I'm also wanting to put up one of those swing in and out shower rods. They're heavy so I'm instead considering the bowed out kind that's fixed. I'm worried about the weight pulling it out of the exterior wall.
How should I attach either to the exterior wall?

Sorry guys...I'm asking a ton of questions.
I didn't get a 288BHS manual. I've searched Google and this site and come up empty. Any idea where to get one? Is there one?

Here's the lock I use. There's a metal tab on the power station that this slips through... I then wrap it around the pedestal twice and it usually fits nice and snug.
Gotta be honest... In all our years of camping (tent camping included), we've never had anything stolen from our site... So I don't overly concern myself with securing "things"... Just the family. It's far more likely I'll pull out my power cord and accidentally leave the power station than it falling victim to theft.

As for the shower curtain... We're still tossing around ideas.

I'm not sure if there is one. I'd call Coachmen directly. They'd be able to help you out. I doubt it would be much help... The ones I've read didn't contain much useful info.

Wow... I guess living "in the middle of nowhere" has a few advantages. I do keep a hitch lock on mine while at the campground.
I have used the individual manuals... But not the general one. I had a gas leak in the oven... Bought a sniff tester at Home Depot and made that repair myself.

This is something they should have done at the factory. I have the same setup on my 259BHSS. Very good and useful mod.
Also in reading back in this thread, also had some water intrusion around the cable tv input. Disconnected cable and it went away for the weekend. Just used HD antenna since then. Any ideas on whether it is caulking around the input that is needed to cure the issue or is it a problem with the rubber connector setup?
