Pulled the Trigger, Now the Wait

After much gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands, we placed our order for a Chaparral 360IBL. Delivery? 4+ months.

We could have pulled one off the dealer's lot but because I wanted 6-pt leveling, it's a special order. The salesman told us that his Rep had recently extended delivery times to 10 - 12 weeks from 8 - 10 weeks. And, apparently the RV manufacturers close basically from Thanksgiving through New Years... perhaps a good thing given the already-iffy quality control.

We bought through Berryland Campers in Ponchatoula, La., who had the best price within a 600 mile radius. The experience has been good so far. If next February ever gets here, I'll post in the Dealer Review section.

Laisser les bons temps rouler!!

We ordered a 360ibl in April and we had it in 5 weeks from the time I placed the order to the time it was at my dealer. They build them in model runs and usually change from model to model every 6-10 days. Ours went on the line on a Monday and was done on Thursday. It was delivered to our dealer on Sat. It was a pretty quick process. I'm sure it helps that I live an hour and a half from the factory in Middleberry IN. I also went and toured the factory while my 360ibl was on the line. Very interesting and neat to see how they are built. Also, at that time they were building 12 units a day, but were getting ready to raise it to 13 because of demand.

I just noticed your location, Green Cove Springs. Near Jacksonville FL, right? I have a mailbox there.

@ependydad....

Re: Green Cove Springs mailbox... so do I. I'm in the 6,000's from three years ago. I was there last week and they're up to the 13,000's, and they're about to knock out a wall to make more room.

No wonder lead time on a new rig is 12 weeks!

Heh, I didn't think anyone lived there. I was at the start of the 11,000s.

we love ours. we bought off the lot of our local dealer. it has the 6 point leveling system and that is a dream! we love it. it takes out all the work of setting up!. while it is leveling we hook up water, sewer, electric. by the time we are done it's done and we can slide out the slides and enjoy!

Congrats! Super happy with ours. The only thing that has really broke on ours is one side of the kitchen sink pulled apart from the counter. Pretty sure it was from traveling with the heavy sink toppers on it and the bumps were just too much for it. We just leave them off now.
